BOCA RATON, Fla. – Sophomore
Fabia Gonzalez Stanton posted a double-double and four players registered 10 or more digs as the 18
th-ranked Lynn University volleyball team blanked Embry-Riddle, 3-0, Friday evening.
The Fighting Knights improved to 14-1 overall and 4-1 in the Sunshine State Conference behind their 11
th shutout of the season. The Blue and White are also undefeated at home at 5-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn hit just .185 with 40 kills, seven aces, seven blocks, 38 assists and 69 digs
- The Fighting Knights won by scores of 25-19, 25-19 and 25-23
- The hosts jumped out to a 5-0 cushion in the first set

Hope Passerello smacked a kill and posted an ace as Lynn grabbed a 15-11 lead
- Gonzalez Stanton closed the first set with four kills and a block down the stretch for a 25-19 cushion

Samantha Blahut opened game two with back-to-back kills and Lynn raced to an 8-4 lead
- Blahut added two more kills in the middle part of the set for a 14-9 lead

Samantha Wolf smacked a pair of kills as part of a 4-0 run as Lynn snared a 21-15 edge

Maria Cecilia Pinho sealed the 25-19 victory with a late kill
- The third set was the closest of the match with seven ties and three lead changes
- Wolf posted a kill and a service ace as the hosts led 13-8
- The Eagles rebounded with a 5-0 scoring jolt for a 16-15 advantage
- Kills from Wolf and Blahut gave Lynn the lead for good at 22-21
- Two late errors from Embry-Riddle sealed the win for Lynn at 25-23

- Gonzalez Stanton finished with a match-high 10 kills and 15 digs
- Passerello passed out 33 assists to go along with three kills, two blocks and nine digs
- Wolf finished with eight kills, three aces, two blocks and 10 digs
