Maria Cecilia Pinho and sophomore
Fabia Gonzalez Stanton combined for 38 kills and the 18
th-ranked Lynn University volleyball team hit .343 in a 3-0 sweep of Rollins in SSC action, Saturday.
The Fighting Knights are 6-0 at home and push their overall record to 15-1 with their second-consecutive sweep. Lynn is 5-1 in league play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The hosts held a 48-26 edge in kills and defensively limited the Tars to just 0.86 hitting
- Lynn won by scores of 25-19, 25-14 and 25-19
- Lynn hit .394 in the first set that featured 11 ties and six lead changes
- Rollins jumped out to a quick 4-1 cushion and later capitalized on a handful of errors for a 16-15 lead
- The Blue and White answered with a 6-1 scoring run for a 21-17 advantage
- A kill from Wolf, service ace from graduate
Hope Passerello and a block from graduate
Samantha Blahut sealed the 25-19 win
- Lynn never trailed in the second set and rolled to an 8-0 lead
- Three-straight kills from Wolf extended the lead to 14-6
- Wolf added four late kills and Cecilia Pinho smacked two for a 25-14 win
- A 4-0 run highlighted by kills from Gonzalez Stanton, Wolf and Cecilia Pinho gave the hosts a 12-7 advantage
- Wolf added two more kills and junior
Aline Olegario had one as the Fighting Knights led 20-14
- A block from Cecilia Pinho and a kill from Olegario closed the match with a 25-19 win in the third set

- Wolf hit .387 with 16 kills, six digs and two aces
- Gonzalez Stanton hit .391 with 11 kills and six digs
- Cecilia Pinho hit .333 with 11 kills, five digs and five blocks
