DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The No. 1 Lynn University men's soccer team defeated Embry-Riddle, 5-2, Wednesday evening. Five different Fighting Knights scored in the win, as they outshot the Eagles 21-6.
The Fighting Knights are the only DII team without a loss or draw this season and are now 7-0-0 in 2024 and 3-0-0 in the SSC.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

Fabian Vyhnalek got the match started with a shot attempt in the fourth minute, while Embry-Riddle's first shot came in the 17th minute
- The Fighting Knights began a span of three goals in 10 minutes on a goal by
Luan Barroso Rennstich at 21:22
- Barroso Rennstich won back possession from his opponent, took a touch and fired a shot off his right foot from 30 yards out to the right goal post for a 1-0 Lynn lead

Dominik N'gatie kept the Lynn pressure with a shot on goal less than two minutes later
- The Fighting Knights made the score 2-0 in the 30th minute

Fabio Menzel passed to
Luis Kiefer for a shot and
Lucas Vila collected the rebound and punched it in from within six yards
- 91 seconds later, Lynn struck again to take a 3-0 advantage on a goal by Kiefer
- Kiefer won the dual, hit a powerful shot far side to the lower left corner that the keeper got a hand on but still found the back of the net
- The Eagles scored on a cross just 26 seconds later to cut Lynn's lead to two, 3-1
- The Blue and White took a 3-1 lead to the break and owned a 9-2 advantage in shots

Jan Rohrling and Barroso Rennstich all took shots during a barrage in the 58th and 59th minutes
- Lambertz took a penalty kick after an Embry-Riddle foul that was saved by the Eagles goalie near the far-left post
- The Fighting Knights fourth goal came in the 69th minute

- Kiefer leads the team with five goals and 12 points this season
