BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn men's soccer team improved to 7-0 at home with a 1-0 win against Palm Beach Atlantic in Sunshine State Conference play, Wednesday.
Tony Gomez provided the match-winner off a well-placed corner from
Luan Barroso Rennstich. The Fighting Knights are now to 10-0-1 overall and 6-0-1 in the SSC.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn's first significant chance came in the 8th minute when
Lucas Vila shot wide to the right

Anton Mand contested the net from 30 in the next play that just barely went outside the left post

Luca Clavero was forced into action with a low shot in the 14th minute, but made the save to keep the game scoreless

Jan Rohrling attempted a close-range shot but was saved in the 34th minute by PBA's goalkeeper Omar Einarsson
- The Fighting Knights outshot the Sailfish 6-2 in the first half with each team making two saves
- PBA challenged Clavero once again in the 52nd and 54th minutes, making two crucial saves
- A corner kick from Barroso Rennstich curled into the box in the 63rd minute of the second half
- Gomez connected at close range to fire the ball past Einarsson and take the lead, 1-0
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Gomez scored his third goal of the season, with his second game-winning goal
- Barroso Rennstich earned his eighth assist of the season
- Clavero recorded four saves on the night and now leads the SSC with six shutouts
- Lynn holds the title of best defensive team in the SSC
- The Fighting Knights average .64 goals against, conceding seven in 11 games
- Lynn tallied 18 total shots, six of them on target
