Lynn scores late winner against Florida Tech

MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Lynn University men's soccer team extended their win streak with a 1-0 victory over the Florida Tech Panthers on Wednesday night. Fabio Menzel secured the win with a late-game goal, his first goal of the season. 
The Fighting Knights are now 11-0-1 and 7-0-1 in the SSC. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: 
- Lynn's goalie, Luca Clavero, made a quick save from close range with 11:25 on the clock, which prevented the opening goal for Tech 
- The Fighting Knights had their first opportunities in the 19th minute 
- Lucas Vila and Jan Rohrling attempted shots from outside the penalty area that were blocked 
- Clavero saved a shot from Florida Tech aimed for the bottom-left corner in the 33rd minute 
- The two teams ended the half with five shot attempts each 
- Dominik N'gatie took the first shot of the second half in the 66th minute that floated over the crossbar 
- Anton Mand opened Lynn's goal with a through ball to Vila into the right side of the penalty area 
- Vila cut the ball across the box, as Menzel took a low driven shot that found the bottom-left corner of the net 
- Lynn took a 1-0 lead with 74:11 on the clock 
- Clavero made a last minute save from a loose ball to hold onto the win and the clean sheet 
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS: 
- Menzel scored his first goal this season 
- Clavero continues to lead the SSC with seven shutouts 
- Lynn has started its season with a 12-game unbeaten streak, their best run since 2019 
- The Fighting Knights have a 2.667 scoring average, the best in the SSC  
- The Blue and White average 15.33 shots a game
