MELBOURNE, Fla. – 17
th ranked Lynn volleyball's program-record unbeaten streak to start the season came to an end on Friday night, as it suffered a road loss to Florida Tech (25-20, 25-18, 24-26, 13-25, 11-15).
The Fighting Knights are now 12-1 overall and 2-1 in the Sunshine State Conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sophomore
Fabia Gonzalez Stanton recorded back-to-back kills to start a 5-0 run as Lynn took a 6-2 lead
- The Panthers took a 13-12 lead but senior
Maria Cecilia Pinho posted a pair of kills to give the Fighting Knights a 15-13 advantage
- The Blue and White used a 5-0 run to lead 24-17 and the set was later won on a kill by graduate
Samantha Wolf
- The Fighting Knights jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the second set
- Kills by junior

Samantha Blahut gave Lynn a 10-5 lead
- A 5-0 run put the Fighting Knights ahead 18-12 and a 6-0 run led to set point

Hope Passerello put Lynn ahead two sets to none
- Florida Tech started the third set on a 5-0 run but Lynn later tied the set at 10
- A pair of kills by Olegario gave Lynn an 18-17 lead and her kill 12 points later gave the Blue and White a set point at 24-23
- The Panthers won three consecutive points to take the third set, 26-24
- Florida Tech opened an 8-0 lead in the fourth en route to a 25-13 set win
- The two teams played a back and forth fifth set that was tied at 11 after Cecilia Pinho's kill
- Florida Tech used a pair of kills and two aces to record the final four points of the deciding set
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Lynn held an advantage in kills (65-57), assists (61-51) and digs (89-84)
- Senior
Isabella Gentile had a game high 25 digs
- Wolf led Lynn with 17 kills and added 13 digs
- Olegario posted 11 kills and two blocks and is third in the SSC with a .414 hitting percentage
- Passerello recorded 55 assists and leads the SSC with 11.25 assists per set this season
