BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University women's basketball outscored Claflin 17-7 in the fourth quarter and overcame a double-digit deficit in a 61-55 win on Friday night.
Jess Knight led the Fighting Knights with 17 points and 9 rebounds as the Blue and White are now 3-0 this season.

Danielle Montelbano closed out the first quarter with three-pointers for a 16-9 lead after 10 minutes
- A 13-0 Panthers run over a 3:30 span gave the road team a 26-18 lead

Trinity Mocadlo broke the run with a three-pointer and a layup to bring Lynn within three
- Parker scored five points during a 7-0 Lynn run to take a 30-29 lead with under two minutes remaining in the first half
- Claflin closed with a three to take a two-point lead into the break
- The Panthers expanded their lead to 10 midway through the third quarter
- Two consecutive field goals in the paint by Knight brought Lynn within five, 46-41
- Knight's traditional three-point play brought the score to 48-44 through three quarters
- The defensive intensity picked up in the fourth as Romich made the first basket of the quarter on a drive to the hoop at the 7:49 mark
- Parker followed with a layup to tie the game at 48

Katie Tiffan for a layup to give Lynn its first lead of the second half
- Montelbano fed Romich, who spun home a three to give Lynn a 53-50 lead
- Montelbano knocked down two free throws with 45 seconds left to give the Fighting Knights a 57-52 edge, as Lynn held on for the win
