VALDOSTA, Ga. – Lynn women's basketball fell short in a 64-57 road loss to Valdosta State on Monday, despite a brilliant performance by graduate student
Jess Knight, who tallied 30 points and 12 rebounds. The Fighting Knights came out firing, leading by 11 early, but a 9-0 run by the Blazers in the fourth quarter sealed the win for the home team.
Lynn is now 3-1 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn scored the game's first 11 points, with Knight scoring eight over the stretch

Kaitlyn Parker's layup stopped Valdosta State's 7-0 run for a 13-7 Lynn lead
- The Blazers took their first lead of the game at the 8:31 mark of the second quarter
- Knight's free throws put the Fighting Knights ahead by two, 24-22, with 2:17 remaining in the first half
- Lynn led 26-25 at the break

- Valdosta State went on a 9-0 run over a two-minute stretch to break the game open
- Knight's free throws with 45 seconds left brought Lynn within five, but the Fighting Knights were unable to make it a one-possession game before the final buzzer
