BOCA RATON. Fla. – Second-seed Lynn men's soccer won its NCAA Tournament second round match against seventh-seed West Florida, 1-0, Sunday afternoon.
Jan Rohrling scored just five minutes into the match in what proved to be the winning goal to give the Fighting Knights a spot in the Round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
The Fighting Knights kept their undefeated streak alive and are now 16-0-2 overall this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The goal from Rohrling was the first shot of the game
- He scored from the left side on a shot that was assisted by
Fabian Vyhnalek and
Dominik N'gatie in the 5th minute of the match
- Goalkeeper
Luca Clavero made back-to-back saves just minutes later

Tony Gomez took a shot with 15 minutes left in the half on a shot that went over the crossbar
- The last opportunity in the first half came in the 37th minute on an Argonauts shot that was off target
- The first shot of the second half didn't come until the 60th minute after the Argonauts forced Clavero to make a save
- For the remaining 20 minutes of the half the Fighting Knights defended their lead, ultimately winning the game 1-0
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS: 
- Clavero had a season high of six saves on the night and recorded his 11th shutout of the season
- Rohrling scored his first goal for the Blue and White this year
- Vyhnalek leads the team with nine assists in 2024
