MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - Danielle Montelbano led with 19 points and
Ella Fiore added a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds as Lynn University secured an 87-74 victory over Livingstone on Friday night.
The Fighting Knights improved their record to 4-2 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn was ahead almost the entire game, with only three lead changes
- The only time the Fighting Knights were trailing was in the first quarter in a 9-5 game with 4:56 on the clock
- The Blue and White's largest lead was 15 points, both occurring in the second half

Channing Chappell hit the opening 3-pointer of the game, assisted by
Rachel Romich, for an early 3-2 lead with 8:08 on the board

Makayla Hemingway made a 3-pointer, assisted by Chappell, that closed the gap to 8-9 with 4:46 left to play in the quarter
- Montelbano scored a layup after she grabbed a rebound to put Lynn ahead 10-9 with 3:49 minutes of play left in the first
- In the final minute of the first quarter, Chappell and Romich each hit three-pointers, both assisted by Fiore, to extend Lynn's lead to 18-11
- Fiore scored a layup in the second quarter to give Lynn a six-point edge, 22-16, with 8:46 on the clock
- Romich scored a layup while being fouled and completed the and-one free throw, which increased the charge to 25-20 with 4:44 left
- Fiore closed the half with two free throws, securing a 34-28 lead at halftime
- She started the third quarter with a steal and a fastbreak layup to extend Lynn's advantage, 38-30

Jess Knight scored a layup off a defensive rebound from Fiore which gave the Fighting Knights their first double-digit lead, 46-36, with 5:56 remaining
- After a layup from Knight with 4:46 left in the fourth quarter, the Blue and White had an 11-point lead and maintained a double-digit advantage for the rest of the game
- A three-pointer from
Karishma Ortiz created the first 15-point gap of the game, 78-63, with 2:31 minutes left
- In the last two minutes of the game, Ortiz hit a three-pointer and Montelbano followed with a layup to secure the win 87-74
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Montelbano scored a team-high of 19 points
- Five Fighting Knights scored double-digit points: Montelbano (19), Knight (18), Fiore (14), Romich (14), and Chappell (10)
- Fiore led the team with five assists, five steals, and 11 rebounds
- Lynn had a 7-3 advantage in three-pointers and out-rebounded the Bears, 44-37
- The Fighting Knights scored 53 points in the second half
