BOCA RATON, Fla. – Danielle Montelbano had a game-high 20 points, five assists and four steals in Lynn's 78-73 loss to No. 24 Nova Southeastern on Wednesday evening. The Fighting Knights shot 50% from the field and from three-point range in the home defeat.
Lynn is now 4-3 overall and 0-2 in the SSC.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn opened the game on a 9-0 run, with
Channing Chappell totaling four points during the spurt

Jess Knight scored the final four points of the quarter as the Fighting Knights led 20-15 after the first 10 minutes
- Chappell broke a 20-20 tie with a three-pointer with 8:03 remaining in the first half

Trinity Mocadlo's three gave Lynn a 28-25 advantage
- Knight made a pair of free throws to close the half as Lynn trailed by one, 38-37

Danielle Montelbano's driving layup once again brought the Blue and White to within one point two minutes into the third quarter

Ella Fiore's jumper tied the game at 43
- The Fighting Knights outscored NSU 4-0 in the final minute of the third quarter

Rachel Romich pump-faked a three and drove in for a layup and Montelbano's bucket brought Lynn within two points heading into the final frame
- A pair of free throws by Fiore tied the game at 56
- Knight's driving left-handed layup brought Lynn within three, 64-61, with five minutes left
- Fiore scored on a baseline set play to make it a one-point game
- Mocadlo's steal led to a pair of free throws by Montelbano to bring the Blue and White within four with two minutes remaining
- Montelbano's scooped in a layup to make the score 70-68, NSU
- The Sharks hit a three with 43 seconds left hold off Lynn's comeback attempt
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- The Fighting Knights led in rebounds 32-28
- Montelbano recorded the second 20-point game of her Lynn career (also 1/10/24 vs. Barry)
- Her four steals also tied a career high set on 2/14/24 at Tampa
- Knight added 17 points, seven rebounds and two blocks
- She has multiple blocks in five of her seven contests this season
- Romich reached double figures in scoring for the fourth time this season and is averaging 10.7 points per game
- Chappell has scored 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting over her last two games
- Lynn's 50% shooting was a season high
