TAMPA, Fla. – The 17
th ranked Lynn volleyball team dropped its road match against No. 9 Tampa on Friday night in three sets.
Maria Cecilia Pinho led Lynn with 12 kills and eight digs in the loss.
Lynn is now 21-3 overall this season and 11-3 in the Sunshine State Conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Tampa hit .438 with just one error in the first set
- A kill by Pinho gave the Fighting Knights an early 3-2 lead

Hope Passerello, made the score 4-3

Samantha Wolf's kill highlighted a 4-1 Lynn run to put the visiting team ahead, 8-5
- Pinho's kill again gave Lynn the lead, 10-9
- A 6-1 Tampa run gave it a 15-11 advantage
- The Fighting Knights were unable to get within two points for the remainder of the set in a 25-18 Tampa win
- Pinho and
Samantha Blahut started the second set with kills to give Lynn the lead
- Pinho's kill put the Fighting Knights within two, 11-9
- The Spartans followed with a 6-1 run and would go on to win the set, 25-15
- The Fighting Knights hit .226 in the third set
- Pinho posted two kills during an even run to open the frame, 4-4
- Wolf's kill brought Lynn within one, 8-7
- A 7-2 Tampa surge put it up by six
- The Fighting Knights closed within four, 22-18, but Tampa finished out a 25-20 set to win the match
