BOCA RATON, Fla. - Lynn University's men's basketball team started their season with a dominant win on Friday afternoon, defeating the St. Thomas University Bobcats 96-58 in their home opener. Junior
Leo Beath led the charge scoring 32-points, marking the game-high.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- St. Thomas scored the first three points of the match in their first possession 25 seconds in
- Beath scored the opening layup to put points on the board for Lynn with 19:24 on the clock, 2-3
- 31 seconds later Beath tipped the ball in from the paint to give the Fighting Knights their first lead, 4-3
- Lynn scored five consecutive three-pointers in six minutes to lead 23-19 with 10 minutes left in the half
- Beath scored a layup after a steal was made by
Braydon Iuli with 5:02 on the board, 38-27
- Lynn gave themselves a 12-point lead, their biggest in the half with less than three minutes left, 39-27
- After a steal from Beath, Iuli scored the final point of the period to hand Lynn an 11-point lead, 41-30

Carson Smith scored the opening three-pointer, 19:22 minutes in the second half
- Lynn went on a 9-0 run to extend their lead to 53-33 with 16:55 minutes left of play

- Lynn ended the game with an 18-0 run to win it, 96-58
FIGHTING KNIGHTS STATS:
