Fighting Knights fall to the Sailfish

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Lynn University's men's basketball team faced a tough road test against Palm Beach Atlantic with Antoine Jacks leading the charge with 17 points for the Blue and White, ultimately falling 88-72 in conference play on Saturday night. 

The Fighting Knights are currently 3-3 overall and 1-2 in the Sunshine State Conference. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: 
- Braydon Iuli scored the opening points with a layup off a fastbreak 
- Layups from Leo Beath and Iuli gave Lynn an early 6-2 lead
- The Fighting Knights lost the lead for the first time with 16:09 on the clock after a PBA made layup, 8-6 
- Jacks swished a three-pointer to shorten the gap for Lynn, 24-20, with seven minutes left of play 
- A three-pointer by Carson Smith made it a one-point game just 30 seconds later, 24-23 
- Sveinn Birgisson made both of his free throws to keep the score tight at 35-27 
- The Sailfish led at halftime, 47-38 
- Osei Price opened the second half with three in Lynn's first possession to bring Lynn within six
- Jacks drove to the basket for a layup to make it a five-point game with 18:38 on the clock, 48-43 
- Iuli converted a bucket in the paint to reduce the gap to 10 points, 55-45  
- Beath scored a fast-break layup from a steal by Austin Vick, bringing Lynn within 12 points at 59-47 
- Jordan Wilkins knocked down a three-pointer to cut the deficit to 67-52 with 11 minutes to play 
- The Fighting Knights cut the Sailfish lead to single digits with 6:35 left
- PBA went on a run of its own to finish with a 16-point win
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS: 
- Lynn outpaced PBA 17-8 in fastbreak points 
- Beath led all players with nine rebounds 
- Iuli led Lynn with six assists 
- Jacks now has 13 three-pointers made this season, second only to Smith 
- The Fighting Knights have made at least 10 three-pointers in five of their six games this season 
- Five Fighting Knights scored double-digit points: Wilkins (10), Birgisson (10), Smith (10), Beath (10) and Jacks (17)
