WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Lynn split a road doubleheader with Keiser, Tuesday, losing the first game 6-1 and coming back from a four-run deficit in game two to win, 7-5. Monique Poitevin hit a two-run shot while Eliza Gonzalez drove in the game-winning runs with a single in the nightcap. The Fighting Knights are now 4-8 in 2024.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1):
- Morgan Simpson walked, stole two bases and scored on Teagan Riley's single to give Lynn a 1-0 lead in the first inning
- Keiser tied the game in the bottom of the second
- Four walks, two errors and a single led to a five-run sixth inning for Keiser
- The Fighting Knights went down in order in the top of the seventh for a 6-1 final
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS (Game 1):
- Riley went 3-for-4 with an RBI
- Simpson went 2-for-2 with a walk, run scored and two steals
- She is now 13-for-13 on stolen base attempts this season
- Haley Fardanesh pitched three innings and allowed one run
- Lynn out-hit Keiser 9-3 but committed four errors and walked eight batters
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 2):
- The Fighting Knights were held scoreless through the first four innings
- The Seahawks scored a run in the second inning and added two more in the fourth to take a 3-0 lead
- Cameron Buzzell led off the top of the fifth with a walk and advanced to second on Anabel O'Donnell's sac bunt
- Isabella Rittle singled to right-center to score Buzzell and cut Lynn's deficit to two runs
- Keiser responded with two runs in the bottom half of the fifth after it began the inning with a walk and three straight singles
- Down 5-1, Ashlee Martinez singled to lead off the top of the sixth
- Two batters later, Poitevin hit a two-run homer to left to make it a 5-3 ballgame 
- Lynn turned a 4-6-3 double play and pitcher Madison Prickett followed with a strikeout to end the sixth inning
- The Fighting Knights rallied for four runs in the seventh inning
- Buzzell led off with a hard single to left
- After Alexis Murphy reached on an error, Kyra Sunga singled up the middle to load the bases
- Josey Sumpter drew a bases loaded pinch-hit hit by pitch to put the Fighting Knights within a run of tying the game
- Gonzalez then hit a clutch pinch-hit single as all three runners scored on the play after a throwing error by the right fielder to give Lynn a 7-5 lead
- The Seahawks threatened with two singles in the bottom of the seventh but a ground out to Lovins at short ended the game
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS (Game 2):
- Buzzell had a hit and a walk to raise her OB% to .591 this season
- With her pinch-hit single, Sunga raised her season average to .444 (8-for-18)
- Poitevin hit the fifth home run of her Fighting Knight career
- Sumpter has reached base nine times this season via walk or hit by pitch
- Madison Prickett struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings to pick up the win
- Seven different Fighting Knights had a hit
