TAMPA, Fla. – The Lynn University men's and women's track teams collected four runner-up finishes as they opened the 2024 schedule at the Tampa Spartans Opener, Saturday evening.
Lynn also finished with 10 top-five and 21 top-10 finishes.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Men):
- The men's 4x100 relay team of senior
Philip Henderson, sophomore
Paul Mosley, freshman
Denzel Rigaud and senior
Collin Clark captured second in 44.31
- The 4x400 relay squad of Henderson, Rigaud, Clark and freshman
Robert LeBrun closed the meet with second in the 4x400 relay at 3:31.08
- Rigaud took second in the 400 hurdles with a 59.25
- Clark was second in the 400 meter at 50.90
- Junior
Joseph Haynes took home third place in the 800 with a 2:01.69
- LeBrun grabbed fifth place in the 400 in 53.31
- Mosley, Collins, Haynes and freshman
Matthew Gusmano took fourth in the 4x400 at 3:40.40
- Junior
Cameron Matejka finished in fourth in the 800 in 2:02.03
- Mosley was sixth in the 400 (53.55)
- Sophomore
Renzo Almeida took eighth in the 1,500 in 4:25.86
HOW IT HAPPENED (Women):
- The 4x400 relay team of freshman
Angelina Howard, senior
Lily Koch, junior
Brooke Mullins and graduate
Shaleiya Lee were third in 4:23.99
- Lee added third place in the 400-meter run in 1:01.81
- Koch finished in seventh place in the 400 meters (1:04.86)
- Mullins earned sixth in the 800 with a 2:27.10
- Junior
Makayla Lewis was sixth in the 200 at 26.99
- Graduate
Hannah Simon finished in eighth place in the 200 in 27.30
- Howard (1:07.92), freshman
Davyn Drebelbis (1:09.76) and sophomore
Brooke Bond (1:14.35) finished in eighth, ninth and 10
th place in the 400-meter dash
