BOCA RATON, Fla. - The 3rd- ranked Lynn University women's tennis team collected a close 4-3 victory over Embry-Riddle in the first Sunshine State Conference match of the season, Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Lynn women won two of the three doubles matches
- Sophomore
Kristen Younes and junior
Zofia Podbiol picked up a 6-4 over Itxaso Blanco and Carla Cabero del Hie at the top doubles flight
- They are 3-0 in doubles this spring and all three wins have come in the top flight
- Sophomore
Salma Djoubri and junior
Greta Schieroni snatched a win at No. 2 doubles over Maja Issler and Laura Cuesta Bret, 6-2
- The pair is now 5-0 overall this spring and 4-0 in the second flight
- Djoubri picked up the top singles win 6-1, 6-3 against Blanco
- The nation's top-ranked player is now 5-0 at the top flight
- Schieroni dropped her singles match in a back-and-forth contest, 3-6, 6-3, 3-6 to Issler in the second flight
- Younes came back for a win in the third flight, 6-1, 2-6, 6-5, over Cuesta Bret
- Younes is 5-0 and 3-0 in the third flight
- Sophomore
Jade Marie endured a 6-3, 5-6, 3-6 loss to Cabero del Hie in the fourth flight
- Sophomore
Dolores Molina swept Alessia Tripaldelli, 6-3, 6-2 in her No. 6 singles match
- This makes her 3-0 in singles matches this season
