BOCA RATON, Fla. – Sophomores
Salma Djoubri,
Jade Marie and
Dolores Molina each posted a win in their respective singles matches, but the third-ranked Lynn University women's tennis team suffered a 4-3 setback at No. 23 Tampa, Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn lost all three doubles matches to surrender the team point to the Spartans
- Marie and Molina lost 7-5 in the third flight to Anine Wilberg and Savannah Williams
- Djoubri and junior
Greta Schieroni lost in the second flight, 6-4, to Nicole Cierniak and Kristina Miletic
- Djoubri rebounded with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles over Victoria Sanchez
- She is now 6-0 in singles and all six wins have come in the No. 1 spot
- Marie added the Fighting Knight's second point with a 6-3, 6-2 win in the fourth flight over Cierniak
- Marie is 4-1 in singles with two wins in the fourth flight
- Molina rebounded from a 6-1 deficit with scores of 6-4, 10-5 to defeat Wilberg in the final singles flight
- She is now 4-0 in singles and 2-0 at No. 6 singles
- Schieroni lost to Julia Ball, 6-2, 6-4 in the second flight
