BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University finished with five players in double figures and used a strong second half to pull away from Rollins for 98-81 victory, Wednesday. The Fighting Knights are now 15-8 overall and 10-7 in the SSC, while the Tars slip to 8-17 overall and 5-13 in the league.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn led 45-43 at intermission and used a 53-38 scoring edge in the second half for the win
- The Fighting Knights finished with 14 three-pointers, tied for their second highest total in a game this season
- Lynn finished 20-of-25 (80%) at the foul line, including a 17-of-19 (89.5%) in the second stanza
- The hosts held a 14-2 lead in second-chance points and outscored the Tars bench 25-14
- Sophomores
Nordin Kapic and
Jalen Gilmore connected on back-to-back three-pointers just before the midway point of the first half as Lynn led 25-20
- Rollins answered with two baskets that tied the game at 25
- With just over two minutes to play in the first half, Gilmore connected on a three for a 40-37 lead and Lynn never trailed again
- Kapic converted a traditional three-point play early in the second half for a 55-47 lead

Jamison Evans intercepted a pass near mid-court and raced for a dunk and a 59-49 lead with 16:19 to play
- Rollins made a run starting at 11:04 and trimmed its deficit to 70-68 with 9:02 left

Ben Gahlert hit a three-pointer at 6:15 for a 80-71 cushion
- The Fighting Knights closed the final 3:20 of the ballgame on a 14-3 run to seal the 98-81 victory
