BOCA RATON, Fla. – The third-ranked Lynn University women's tennis team cruised to three quick wins in doubles action en route to a 7-0 shutout of visiting Eckerd, Saturday. The Fighting Knights are now 6-1 overall and 2-1 in the SSC.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sophomore
Kristen Younes and junior
Zofia Podbiol started doubles with a 6-0 shutout of Ericka Chavarria and Catherine Cole in the top flight
- The pair is now 4-1 in No. 1 doubles this spring
- Junior
Greta Schieroni and sophomore
Salma Djoubri posted a 6-1 win in No. 2 doubles against Kylie Misdrop and Maya Soligo
- Schieroni and Djoubri are 6-1 in doubles with five wins in the second flight
- Sophomores
Dolores Molina and
Jade Marie rounded out doubles with a 6-3 win over Olivia Lindestaf and Maialen Idiakez
- They are 4-2 in the third flight as a duo
- Djoubri remained undefeated in singles action on the season with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout of Misdrop in the top flight
- The nation's top-ranked player is 7-0 in No. 1 singles
- Schieroni nearly posted a shutout in the second flight with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Chavarria
- Marie battled for a three-set win over Lindestaf, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the third flight
- She is 5-1 in singles, including an unblemished 3-0 mark at No. 3
- Younes downed Soligo, 6-3, 6-0 at No. 4 singles
- She is second on the roster this spring with six wins in singles play
- Molina cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the fifth flight against Julia Triska
- She is now 3-0 in the fifth flight and 2-0 in the sixth
- Podbiol closed out the afternoon with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Idiakez in the sixth flight
