BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn baseball came back from a three-run deficit by scoring four runs in the final two innings to defeat Erskine, 4-3, Thursday.
Juan Carlos Camarena's walk-off, two-run doubled helped the Fighting Knights improve to 5-0 for the first time since 2009, the year they won the national championship.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Starting pitchers
Nathan Shane (Lynn) and Joe Alegre (Erskine) matched each other with four consecutive scoreless innings to begin the game
- Two consecutive doubles and a single with two outs led to two runs for Erskine in the top of the fifth
- Relief pitcher
Matt Tiberia relieved Shane and got out of the fifth inning with a strikeout
- Tiberia pitched a 1-2-3 sixth inning, striking out two
- A bases-loaded walk in the top of the eighth gave Erskine a 3-0 lead
- Erskine's Alegre left the game after seven scoreless innings
- Juan Carlos and
Julio Camarena hit back-to-back singles to lead off the bottom of the eighth

David Judge drove in Juan Carlos on a groundout for Lynn's first run
- Relief pitcher
Hunter Shew pitched a clean top of the ninth to keep it a two-run game

Cole Fowler led off the bottom of the ninth with a double to the gap

Jesse Robinson's single through the hole scored Fowler to put the Fighting Knights within one, 3-2

Shawn Dougherty was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second with one out

Juan Carlos Camarena doubled to left field as Robinson easily scored and Dougherty slid home safely with the game-winning run
