BOCA RATON, Fla. – Madison Prickett pitched a shutout while
Eliza Gonzalez singled home a run and
Teagan Riley smacked her second home run of the season as Lynn University defeated East Stroudsburg, 2-0, in the second game of a doubleheader, Friday afternoon. The Fighting Knights dropped the opener 6-0 as the series ended in a split.
Lynn is now 3-5 on the young season, while the Warriors open at 1-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 1):
- The Warriors stymied the Lynn bats in the first game holding the hosts to just three hits
- East Stroudsburg plated a single run in the first, two in the second, two in the third and one in the seventh
- A two-run home run powered the second, while a pair of run-producing singles powered the third
- Gonzalez led the Fighting Knights with two hits, while
Cameron Buzzell added the other

Kayley Zazzali suffered the loss in the circle allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits in 6.0 innings pitched
- Zazzali finished with four strikeouts

Alexis Murphy pitched the seventh inning and surrendered one earned run on three hits
- Paige Zigmund earned the win after tossing a complete game with six strikeouts
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 2):
- Lynn smacked seven hits, while
Madison Prickett tossed 7.0 shutout innings with four strikeouts and scattered three hits
- Buzzell walked to lead off the third, stole second and advanced to third on a single from
Morgan Simpson
- Buzzell scored when Gonzalez singled for Lynn's second hit of the game
- In the sixth, Riley smacked a pitch over the left field fence for her second collegiate home run
- Prickett got a pair of pop outs and a fly out to right field in the top of the seventh for the win
- Rego finished with two hits
