BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn softball lost its doubleheader against Kutztown on Tuesday by scores of 11-1 and 10-5. The Fighting Knights held two leads in the second game but were unable to hang on for a series split. The Fighting Knights drop to 10-19 overall this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1):
- Kutztown scored three runs in each of the first two innings

Ariana Rego reached on an error, stole second and later scored on
Kylee Dodson's ground out for Lynn's lone run
- Each team was held scoreless in the third and fourth innings
- The Golden Bears scored an unearned run in the fifth to take a 7-1 lead
- Six hits, including five straight, led to four more runs for the visitors in the top of the sixth
- The Fighting Knights went down in order on the bottom of the sixth for an 11-1 final

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 2):
- Kutztown had nine hits with two outs in the game
- Rego singled and stole two bases to start the bottom of the first inning and later scored on an error to give Lynn a 1-0 lead
- The Golden Bears tied the game in the top of the second with a run
- The Fighting Knights retook the lead in the bottom half of the inning with two runs

Maiya Reinhart singled

Madison Prickett doubled home Buzzell to give Lynn a 2-1 lead

Kristina Leone's sacrifice fly scored Reinhart as Lynn led 3-1
- The Golden Bears scored four runs with two outs in the top of the third to take a 5-3 advantage
- Lynn tied the game in the bottom of the fourth inning
- Reinhart led off the inning with a walk and later scored on a fielder's choice
- Gonzalez tripled to center field, scoring Rego and tying the game at five
- Three singles and two errors with two outs led to three runs for Kutztown in the top of the fifth
- Kutztown rallied for two more runs in the top of the sixth to lead by five, 10-5
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS (Game 2):
- Rego stole three bases and now has 17 steals this season
- Gonzalez hit her first career triple
- Reinhart scored twice and has now has 13 runs scored in 2024

Teagan Riley hit a double off the wall and is tied with Buzzell for the team lead in SLG% (.500)
