BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn lost to No. 25 Rollins on Friday afternoon, 6-0. The Fighting Knights were held to three hits and are now 10-20 overall and 1-9 in the Sunshine State Conference.
The Fighting Knights will hold Senior Day before their doubleheader tomorrow (Saturday).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Two walks and two singles led to a Tars run in the top of the first

Morgan Simpson led off the bottom of the inning with a single and stole second but Lynn was unable to score in the frame
- Two walks and two singles led to two runs for Rollins in the top of the second as it took a 3-0 lead
- Rollins scored a run in the third inning and a solo homer in the fifth expanded the cushion to 5-0

Faith Miller led off the fifth with a walk but the Fighting Knights were kept from scoring
- With two outs in the bottom of the sixth,
Eliza Gonzalez and
Monique Poitevin hit back-to-back singles but the Tars were able to get a pop out to end the threat
- Rollins added a sixth run in the top of the seventh

Ariana Rego led off the seventh with a walk, but she was left stranded on second when the final out was made
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Poitevin went 1-for-3 and is batting .455 (15-for-33) over her last 11 games
- Gonzalez went 1-for-2 and is batting .444 (8-for-18) over her last six games
- Simpson stole her 23
rd base of the season
- Sumpter now has three steals this season
