BOCA RATON, Fla. – The eighth-ranked Lynn University women's tennis team dropped a home match to NCAA Division I Boston, 4-3, Friday afternoon at the Perper Tennis Complex. The loss is just the second this season for the Fighting Knights as they settle at 10-2 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Boston took the first point after winning both the second and third flights in doubles action
- Junior
Zofia Podbiol and sophomore
Kristen Younes fell 6-2 in the second flight to Kaitlin Tan and Emily Zhao
- Sophomores
Salma Djoubri and
Dolores Molina dropped their third doubles match to Victoria Carlsten and Nina Gulbransen, 6-2
- Graduate
Deniza Marcinkevica and junior
Greta Schieroni led 5-4 when their doubles match with Uma Bakaityte and Blank DeMicheli was halted
- Djoubri improved to 12-0 on the season in No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 0-1 (retire) victory over Michelle Kleynerman
- Schieroni quickly moved past Bakaityte with a 6-0, 6-2 win in No. 3 singles
- She is now 7-3 in singles and 4-0 in the third flight
- Podbiol picked up the third singles win with a 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 win over Ellie Gyuro in the sixth flight
- She is now 6-2 in singles and 5-0 in the sixth flight
