DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Lynn University men's lacrosse team jumped out to a 6-4 halftime lead in its SSC opener against Embry-Riddle before a strong second half helped the Eagles rally for a 17-11 win, Saturday. The Fighting Knights settle at 3-5 overall and 0-1 in the SSC.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn posted a 5-0 scoring run to close the first half with a 5-2 cushion
- Graduate student
Jalen Stanton scored the final two goals during the run
- Graduate student
Jordan Cutter scored with 5:18 showing on the second quarter clock as Lynn held a 6-4 lead at intermission
- Junior
Connor Houston scored a pair of man-up goals around the midway point of the third frame as Lynn increased its lead 8-5 with 7:00 left in the third
- The Eagles answered with the final three goals of the third quarter and the first two of the fourth for a 10-8 lead
- Houston temporarily halted the Embry-Riddle momentum as he scored his fourth goal with 11:41 left in the fourth that narrowed the deficit to 10-9
- The hosts scored the game's next five goals for a 15-9 advantage with 2:17 to play
- Houston scored his final goal at 1:30 and handed out an assist to graduate
Brian Hoskins with 21 seconds left to set the final at 17-11
