BOCA RATON, Fla. – Graduates
Brian Hoskins and
Jalen Stanton totaled six goals as the Lynn University men's lacrosse team suffered a 13-11 defeat in SSC action to No. 20 Saint Leo, Saturday. Lynn falls to 3-6 overall and 0-2 in the league.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Lions outshot Lynn 38-35 and the visitors won 23-of-28 faceoffs
- Lynn sophomore keeper
Tristan Lenard notched 14 saves and the Fighting Knight defense caused 12 turnovers
- Saint Leo jumped out to a 4-1 lead just four minutes into action
- Lynn rattled off the game's next four goals for a 5-4 lead late in the first quarter
- Stanton scored the first two goals of the run, while junior
Connor Houston and Hoskins scored at 4:56 and 1:48, respectively
- The Lions closed the first frame with a goal and added three in the second for an 8-6 cushion
- Hoskins scored with 30 seconds left in the first half as Lynn trailed 8-7 at the half
- Hoskins scored Lynn's only goal of the third quarter and Houston opened the fourth with a goal as the game was tied at 9-9 with 13:51 to play
- Stanton scored his final goal with 8:53 showing in the fourth, but the Lions scored four in the final quarter for a 13-10 lead late in regulation
