BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University baseball team captured the SSC series with Barry following a split in the doubleheader, Sunday. The Fighting Knights won the first game on Saturday afternoon, 9-5 and defeated the Buccaneers in the second game of the twinbill, 7-6. Lynn is now 17-13 overall and 5-7 in the league.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1):
- Barry struck first with a sacrifice fly in the first inning for a 1-0 lead
- The Buccaneers plated a second run in the sixth frame on an infield error
- Lynn got on the scoreboard when it tied the contest at 2-2 following a two-run seventh

- Barry took the opener with a pair of runs in the top of the ninth on a two-run single with two outs

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 2):
- Barry struck first in the nightcap as well with an RBI single to center field in the third inning for a 1-0 cushion
- Lynn's offense came alive in the third, fourth and fifth innings, scoring all seven of its runs

- Paulino made the score 5-1 when he scored on a wild pitch
- Otero smacked his second home run of the series over the right center fence that scored Dougherty for the Fighting Knights' final runs
- Barry made things interesting with five runs in the eighth inning behind a three-run triple

Noah Lucia struckout the first batter in the ninth and received a ground out and fly out to seal the win

- Otero's only hit was the home run as he finished 1-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored
