Trio combine for 12 points in win over Montevallo

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Senior Diane Dohler, sophomore Elizabeth Clagett and graduate student Elizabeth Tamasitis combined to score 12 points as the No. 12 Lynn University women's lacrosse team defeated Montevallo, 16-9, Tuesday afternoon. The Fighting Knights have now won eight-straight games and sit at 9-1 overall on the season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn outshot the visitors 33-14, caused 14 Falcon turnovers and held a 17-12 lead in draw controls
- The Fighting Knights scored nine of the game's first 10 goals for a 9-1 lead early in the third quarter
- Montevallo scored eight second-half goals and narrowed their final deficit to seven
- Dohler and Tamasitis each scored in the first quarter as Lynn grabbed a 5-0 cushion after 15 minutes of play
- Clagett opened the second quarter scoring for the hosts with a goal at 7:56
- Junior Jordyn McCullough and sophomore Olivia Fox scored inside the final five minutes of the opening half and sophomore Rebecca Clark opened the third quarter with a goal for the 9-1 lead
- Dohler scored at 5:22 in the third and Clagett scored a woman-up goal with 59 seconds left for an 11-4 lead after 45 minutes of play
- Clagget and junior Kristyn Johnson each tacked on two goals in the fourth to help set the final at 16-9
- Both teams scored three goals in the third and five in the fourth
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Dohler scored twice with two assists and two caused turnovers
- Clagett scored four goals with three draw controls
- Tamasitis scored once with three assists
- Clark again filled up the stat sheet with two goals one assist, three ground balls, two caused turnovers and five draw controls
- Sophomore Isabella Connelly caused three turnovers and had five draw controls
- Sophomore Callista Elica needed just one save in 30 minutes of action for the victory
