Catie O'Connor scored with 15 seconds left in the fourth quarter to send No. 13 Lynn University's matchup with No. 5 Tampa into overtime, but the Spartans scored just 42 seconds into OT to seal a 10-9 win in a key Sunshine State Conference showdown, Wednesday. The Fighting Knights were led by a pair of goals from O'Connor, sophomore
Rebecca Clark and senior
Diane Dohler. Lynn is now 11-3 overall and 2-3 in the SSC.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Tampa outshot Lynn 28-25 with each team putting 20 on goal
- Lynn owned a 15-9 advantage in ground balls while Tampa posted 17-of-23 draw controls
- Junior
Kristyn Johnson and O'Connor scored back-to-back goals to give Lynn an early 2-1 lead
- Clark scored with 48 seconds remaining in the first quarter to put the Fighting Knights ahead, 3-2
- After a defensive second period, the teams went into halftime tied at four as Dohler scored Lynn's only goal
- The Spartans scored three quick goals to begin the third to take a 7-4 lead
- Lynn responded with consecutive goals by freshman

Elizabeth Clagett and Clark to tie the game with 4:51 left in the third
- The Fighting Knights made a run as they trailed by two with under eight minutes remaining in regulation
- Dohler's unassisted goal cut the Lynn deficit to one, 9-8, with 7:18 left in the fourth period
- After seven minutes of back-and-forth scoreless action, O'Connor tallied a dramatic unassisted goal with just 15 seconds left to send the game to overtime
- In overtime, the Spartans won the draw control and scored on the only shot attempt in extra time to win, 10-9

- O'Connor scored multiple goals in a game for the first time in her collegiate career

Emily Solomon scooped up a game-high three ground balls
- Solomon also caused four turnovers
