No. 7 Lynn captures SSC regular-season title

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The No. 7 Lynn University women's tennis team posted a 6-1 win over Palm Beach Atlantic, Tuesday and the victory gave the Fighting Knights the 2024 Sunshine State Conference regular-season title. Lynn is now 15-2 overall on the season and closed SSC play at 8-1.
 
Lynn will be the top seed at the Sunshine State Conference Tournament that starts on Friday, April 26 at the Beerman Tennis Center in Lakeland, Fla.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn rolled to three doubles wins and took five of the six singles matches
- The tandem of graduate Deniza Marcinkevica and sophomore Jade Marie defeated Si Karlsson Hantzis and Cecilia Peroni 6-4 in the top flight
- They are 5-0 in the top flight in doubles 
- Sophomore Salma Djoubri and junior Greta Schieroni rolled in the second flight to a 6-0 shutout of Jelsyvette Croes and Jasmine Williams
- They have 10 wins in doubles action with nine coming in the second flight
- Sophomores Dolores Molina and Kristen Younes closed with a 7-5 win in the third flight over Frida Alsterhem and Alina Hoermann
- The Fighting Knights took home wins in the first four singles flight
- Djoubri shutout Williams 6-0, 6-0 in No. 1 singles
- The nation's top-ranked player is 16-1 overall in singles and closed at a perfect 8-0 in the league
- Schieroni won the second flight with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Hantzis
- She now has 11 wins in singles with seven in the second flight
- Marcinkevica downed Hoermann 6-2, 6-1 in the third flight
- She is 7-2 in singles and a perfect 5-0 in the third flight
- Younes won No. 4 singles with a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Virginia Borja  
- She is second on the team with 11 singles wins
- Molina won No. 6 singles with a 6-4, 6-0 defeat of Croes
- She is undefeated on the season at 7-0 in singles play
