BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn baseball lost both games of its doubleheader against No. 7 Saint Leo on Saturday by scores of 9-6 and 3-1, as the Fighting Knights celebrated 11 students on Senior Day. Lynn is 21-23 overall this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1):
- Saint Leo scored a run on two singles in the top of the first inning
- The Lions put up a four-spot in the second inning to take a commanding 5-0 lead

Leon Paulino blasted a solo home run to right field to put the Fighting Knights on the board
- Saint Leo took a 7-1 lead in the top of the fifth on a pair of unearned runs
- A solo shot in the top of the seventh extended Saint Leo's lead

Peter Avino and
Deric LaMontagne led off the bottom of the seventh with back-to-back singles
- Avino and LaMontagne scored on RBI grounders by
Cristian Otero and
Jordan Parks to bring Lynn within five, 8-3
- After the Lions scored a run in the eighth, Lynn rallied for three runs in the bottom of the ninth
- Parks drew a bases loaded walk to score Avino

AJ Orrico drove home LaMontagne with a single, as Otero also scored on an error

- Orrico posted the 20
th game of his career with 3+ hits
- Paulino hit his conference-leading 12
th home run and 52

- Avino and LaMontagne each went 2-for-3 with two runs scored
- Parks collected a career-high two RBI

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 2):
- Saint Leo's leadoff single led to a 1-0 lead through one inning
- The Lions added an unearned run in the second inning

David Judge hit a leadoff double in the bottom of the third but was left stranded
- Reliever
Drew Clark entered with the bases loaded and two outs in the top of the fifth and induced a ground out to end the inning
- Lynn rallied with two outs in the bottom of the ninth

Cole Fowler walked

Shawn Dougherty hit a pinch-hit double to drive home JC Camarena
- A strikeout ended the threat for a 3-1 win for the visitors
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS (Game 2):
- Three of Lynn's six hits were doubles as hits by Judge,
Cole Beck and Dougherty each went for extra bases
- Clark pitched 4.1 scoreless innings of relief, allowing just two hits and striking out two
