FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Lynn lost a second consecutive high-scoring game at Nova Southeastern on Saturday, 12-8. Third baseman
Cole Fowler had three hits, including a double and three-run homer, while left fielder
Jesse Robinson posted two doubles and scored three times to lead the Fighting Knights. Lynn is 21-25 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Fighting Knight pitching issued nine walks and one hit by pitch while Sharks pitchers walked seven and beaned four
- Lynn left 14 runners on base while NSU left 13
- NSU took a 2-0 lead as R. Cainzos collected an RBI in the first on a hit by pitch and in the third on a sac fly
- Lynn scored four runs in the top of the fourth inning to take the lead
- Leon Paulino singled up the middle to score two and finish the scoring in the frame
- The Sharks responded with three runs in the bottom of the fourth to retake the lead, 5-4
- Four walks and three hits led to five NSU runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a commanding 10-4 advantage
- A solo homer in the seventh extended the Sharks lead to 11-4
- Fowler blasted a three-run home run to put the Fighting Knights back in the game, 11-7
- After NSU scored a run in the eighth, Jesse Robinson led off the top of the ninth with a double and later scored for Lynn's final run of the game for a 12-8 final
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Fowler hit his seventh homer, 14th double and collected his second 4-RBI game of the season
- Paulino has a conference-leading 54 RBI
- Robinson went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs and a stolen base
- Orrico has multiple hits in four of his last six games and is batting .379 over the stretch
- Dougherty reached four times and raised his season average to .317
- Judge was hit by a pitch for the 16 time this season
- Lynn is hitting .333 (27-for-81) this series
- The Fighting Knights rank second in the SSC with 40 HR this season
