Paulino delivers walk-off single to lift Lynn over Embry-Riddle

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Leon Paulino's two-out, bases-loaded single scored the tying and winning runs in Lynn's 9-8 win over Embry-Riddle, Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Knights posted a season-high 19 hits to split the weekend series heading into Sunday's finale.

Lynn is now 19-17 overall this season and 6-11 in the Sunshine State Conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Paulino drove home Julio Camarena with an opposite field base hit to give Lynn a 1-0 lead in the first inning
- ERAU had runners on second and third with no outs in the top of the third
- Starting pitcher Devin Sweeney induced two ground outs to third and a pop out to get out of the jam
- Lynn erupted for four runs in the bottom of the third inning
- Peter Avino's base hit to right scored Cole Fowler and Ju. Camarena
- Deric LaMontagne's double to right knocked in Avino and Shawn Dougherty to make the score 5-0
- The Eagles scored four unearned runs in the top of the fourth on a grand slam to left field
- Dougherty blasted a solo homer to right to put the Fighting Knights ahead by two, 6-4
- ERAU took an 8-6 lead in the top of the seventh inning on five hits and an error
- AJ Orrico's two-out single to right scored Avino to bring Lynn within one, 8-7, through seven frames
- Down by one, the Fighting Knights rallied in the bottom of the ninth
- Jesse Robinson lined a single to right center
- With two outs and Robinson on first, Julio Camarena singled to left
- Cole Fowler followed with a base hit to load the bases
- Paulino lined a single to left as Robinson scored easily from third and an error by the left fielder allowed pinch-runner DJ Flowers to plate the game-winning run

- Paulino has 8 RBI over his last 3 games and leads the conference with 43 RBI this season
- Dougherty went 4-for-5 and hit his second home run of the series and seventh of the season
- Ju. Camarena posted his first four-hit game as a Fighting Knight
- Orrico recorded his sixth three-hit game of the season
- Avino has multiple hits in three of his last four games
- Sweeney allowed just two earned runs in 6.1 innings pitched
- Joel Hayner picked up the win, tossing two scoreless innings of relief
