Deniza Marcinkevica along with junior
Zofia Podbiol won both their doubles and singles matches as the No. 5 Lynn University women's tennis team rolled past Florida Southern, 5-2, Saturday. The Fighting Knights are now 13-2 overall on the season and 6-1 in the SSC.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Marcinkevica and sophomore
Jade Marie picked up a 7-6 (7-3) win over Kenndi Brown and Kelly Klaren in the top flight
- The pair is now 3-0 on the season with all three victories coming in the top flight
- Juniors
Kristen Younes and
Zofia Podbiol grabbed the first point for Lynn by taking No. 3 doubles, 6-4, over Jolie Miller and Ronja Scheuermann
- It was their seventh doubles win this spring
- Marcinkevica defeated Olivia Bryant 6-4, 6-3 in the third singles flight
- She is now 5-2 in singles and 3-0 in the third flight
- Podbiol closed the afternoon with a 3-6, 6-1, 10-6 win over Klaren in the sixth flight
- She now has seven singles wins and is 6-2 at No. 6 singles
- Junior
Greta Schieroni won the second singles flight with 6-2, 6-0 win over Beatriz Costa
- The singles win is her ninth this year
- Sophomore
Salma Djoubri collected a 6-2, 6-4 win in the top flight over Laia Pasini
- The nation's top ranked player is 14-1 overall and all 14 wins have come in the top flight
