Baseball reaches 20 wins in 12-4 victory over PBA

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn defeated Palm Beach Atlantic in a non-conference baseball game on Tuesday afternoon. The Fighting Knights opened a quick 10-0 lead by scoring four runs in the first inning and six in the third.  
 
Lynn improves to 20-18 overall this season.  
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: 
- Five straight batters reached base during a four-run first inning for Lynn 
- After Cole Fowler singled and Leon Paulino walked, Shawn Dougherty plated Fowler on a base hit for a 1-0 lead 
- Peter Avino's double down the left field line knocked in Paulino 
- Deric LaMontagne finished the scoring in the inning with a two-run single to center 
- PBA had runners on second and third in the second inning but starting pitcher Austin Barnao got out of the jam with a strikeout 
- The Fighting Knights scored six runs in the bottom of the third 
- LaMontagne's sac fly scored Paulino 
- Jesse Robinson's infield single brought home Dougherty 
- AJ Orrico's fielder's choice and Julio Camarena's base-on-balls each scored a run 
- Fowler followed with a sac fly to score Robinson 
- Paulino singled to center to score Orrico and give Lynn a 10-0 lead 
- The Sailfish got on the board in the top of the fourth with a run on a single to left 
- In the bottom of the fifth, AJ Orrico scored from second on a wild pitch and an error 
- Dougherty's ground out drove in Ju. Camarena for a 12-1 Lynn lead through five innings 
- A leadoff single and two steals led to PBA's second run of the ballgame in the top of the sixth inning 
- Reliever Allan Jorge entered with the bases loaded and nobody out and recorded a strikeout and a double play to end the inning, keeping the score at 12-2 
- The Sailfish scored a pair in the top of the ninth for a 12-4 final 
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS: 
- Lynn drew a season-high 12 walks and has walked 22 times over the last two games  
- The Fighting Knights did not commit an error 
- Orrico, Paulino, Dougherty and Avino each scored twice 
- LaMontagne paced Lynn with 3 RBI
