th-ranked Lynn University volleyball team opened the Rollins College Invitational on Friday with a hard-fought 3-0 win over Trevecca Nazarene. Graduate

Maria Cecilia Pinho led the way at the net with 11 kills each as the Fighting Knights improved to 8-0 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn hit .217 with 40 kills, 13 service aces and 43 digs
- The Fighting Knights won the first two sets 25-20 and 25-10 and held on for a 32-30 win in the third
- The match featured 18 ties and nine lead changes
- The Blue and White hit .281 in the opening set and shook off a slow start with a 9-1 run for a 15-10 lead

Nadia Rossi served two aces and sophomore
Fabia Gonzalez Stanton smacked two kills during the run
- Trevecca rallied with a 5-0 scoring run for a 20-19 lead before Lynn closed with the final six points for the win

Alexis Williams served two aces during the final six points for Lynn
- Lynn led from start to finish in the second set
- Gonzalez Stanton smacked two kills and the Fighting Knights opened a 7-0 cushion
- Rossi added two more aces and the Blue and White snared a 20-9 lead
- A 5-0 scoring spurt and two aces from graduate
Hope Passerello landed a 25-10 win
- The Trojans didn't back down in the third set that featured 13 ties and six lead changes
- Lynn jumped out to a 7-3 lead before Trevecca rebounded for a 14-11 advantage
- A 4-1 run handed the Trojans a 22-20 lead and later a 24-22 edge
- Wolf smacked a kill and posted an ace for a 25-24 lead
- Wolf added another kill late in the set and senior
Isabella Gentile sealed the 32-30 victory with an ace
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Wolf finished with 11 kills (.308), eight digs, two blocks and two aces
- Cecilia Pinho had 11 kills and six digs
- Passerello passed out 34 assists with four digs and three aces
- Williams added 11 digs and three aces
- Rossi led the way with four aces and two digs
