WINTER PARK, Fla. – The 18
th-ranked Lynn University volleyball team grabbed two more wins to close the Rollins College Invitational on Saturday and the Fighting Knights remain undefeated on the season at 10-0.
The Fighting Knights defeated both Southern Connecticut State and Millersville, 3-0, and nine of the 10 wins this fall have come via shutout. Lynn hasn't dropped a set since the season-opening 3-1 win over Southern New Hampshire.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Southern Connecticut State):
- Lynn rolled 25-17, 25-15 and 25-8 behind a school record .525 hitting percentage
- The Blue and White smacked 50 kills, handed out 46 assists and posted 10 service aces
- Meanwhile, SCSU had just 21 kills, 21 assists and hit just .141
- Two kills in the first set from graduate
Jazzy Innis gave Lynn a 9-5 cushion
- Two more kills from Innis increased the advantage to 22-15

Ula Gorjup posted two kills to earn the 25-17 win
- Lynn opened the second set on a 7-1 run and later used an 8-0 scoring surge for a 20-12 lead

Maria Cecilia Pinho each posted two kills during the 8-0 run

Chloe Riley added two kills to seal the 25-15 victory
- Lynn never trailed in set three and hit .789 with 16 kills
- The Fighting Knights quickly jumped out to an 8-2 edge behind three kills from sophomore

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Innis hit .556 with 11 kills and four digs
- Gonzalez Stanton hit .444 with 10 kills and nine digs
- Olegario hit. 583 with nine kills and three blocks
- Gorjup earned her collegiate start and handed out 36 assists with seven digs, two blocks and three kills
- Gentile led all players with 10 digs, six aces and five assists
HOW IT HAPPENED (Millersville):
- Lynn again dominated offensively, hitting .352 with a 46-18 advantage in kills and a 45-18 edge in assists
- The Blue and White also added nine aces, 71 digs and five blocks
- Lynn won by scores of 25-8, 25-10 and 25-16 and limited Millersville to a -.009 hitting percentage
- The Fighting Knights never trailed in set one and jumped out to a 14-3 cushion
- Three kills from graduate
Samantha Wolf and three from Gonzalez Stanton powered the run
- A late kill and ace from Wolf landed a 25-8 victory
- Wolf and sophomore
Lillia Neill combined for five kills as Lynn opened set two with a 12-4 lead
- Innis took over late in the set with four kills for a 25-10 win
- The Marauders gathered themselves in the third set and opened a 7-6 lead
- Lynn took the lead for good when Neill smacked a kill for an 8-7 lead
- The Fighting Knights closed with eight-straight points behind three aces from Wolf
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Wolf filled up the stat sheet with 11 kills, 17 digs and six aces
- Innis added eight kills and nine digs
- Neill smashed eight kills with three blocks and hit .778
