FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Lynn University women's soccer team mounted an impressive second half comeback attempt but ultimately fell short, losing 4-2 to Nova Southeastern University on Saturday night. Despite
Emma Geiges' two quick goals in the second half, Nova Southeastern held on, and a late goal sealed the victory for the Sharks. Lynn is now 2-3-1 overall this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- NSU opened the scoring early in the eighth minute with Sofia Suarez's goal, assisted by Tabea Schutt
- Suarez extended the lead in the 30th, 2-0
- Alexa Bereczki scored NSU's third goal in the 38th minute, making it 3-0 by halftime
- Lynn's
Emma Geiges ignited a comeback with goals in the 52nd and 54th minutes, reducing the deficit to 3-2
- Lynn created several chances, including a near miss from
K'La Barnes-Blackwood off the crossbar in the 85th minute
- NSU's Emma Sellden sealed the match with a goal in the 89th minute, assisted by Haley Mettrick, bringing the final score to 4-2
