Haferkorn scores in 90th minute, Lynn defeats NSU 1-0

Rootes wins 200th game at Lynn

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The top-ranked Lynn men's soccer team won its conference match against Nova Southeastern in dramatic fashion, 1-0, Sunday. With the final seconds ticking off the clock, the Fighting Knights rushed to get a corner kick away. Fabian Vyhnalek's cross was headed into the top-right corner of the net by Henry Haferkorn with under 10 seconds remaining for the game-winner, as John Rootes recorded his 200th win as the Fighting Knights head coach.

Lynn is now 6-0-0 this season and 2-0-0 in the SSC.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn outshot NSU 4-0 in during the first half
- Max Lambertz had an early chance in the 14th minute but his shot went just over the crossbar
- Dominik N'gatie, Vyhnalek and Anton Mand all had shot attempts in a defensive first half
- The Sharks posted their first shot in the 53rd minute
- Lucas Vila had the matches first shot on goal with a long-distance try in the 57th minute
- Luis Kiefer had a shot attempt of his own in the 60th minute
- The Fighting Knights continued to pressure Nova Southeastern in the final minutes
- With under 30 seconds remaining, Lynn earned a corner kick
- Vyhnalek's delivery was headed by Haferkorn for the game-winning goal

- Lynn held a 62% possession advantage in the match
- The Fighting Knights held their opponent without a shot on goal for the first time since a 1-0 win at Saint Leo on Oct. 14, 2023
