BOCA RATON, Fla. – Graduate students
Max Lambertz and
Luis Kiefer each scored a goal to give 19th-ranked Lynn University a 2-0 win in its season opener against the Spring Hill Badgers on Thursday night. Junior
Luca Clavero recorded his 14th career clean sheet in net.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn contested the Badger's goalkeeper with two shots before the 10-minute mark
- Lambertz scored in the first half from a penalty kick to give the Fighting Knights the lead with 12:53 on the clock

Jan Rohrling took back-to-back attempts in front of the goal four minutes before the break
- Each team had four shots throughout the first half
- Lynn had back-to-back opportunities from corner kicks in the 52nd minute. They led the game with six corner kicks
- Lambertz aimed a shot at top left corner that was saved by Spring Hill keeper Martin Gomez in the 56th minute
- Clavero made a save at 64:25 with a low shot down the middle
- Kiefer scored at 71:15 minutes with a shot off his right foot that found the bottom left of the goal for a 2-0 edge
- Vyhnalek made a low cross to the top of the penalty area to assist the goal
- All six of Lynn's corners came in the second half
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Lynn outshot Spring Hill in the game, 10-4, having four of them on target
- Kiefer tallied his seventh goal with Lynn, continuing his momentum from last season when he led the team with six goals

Marco Costa all played the full 90 minutes
- Spring Hill was only allowed one shot on target the whole game, which was saved by Clavero at 64:25
