MANCHESTER, N.H. – The 25th-ranked Lynn University volleyball team kicked off the 2024 campaign with a pair of wins on the opening day of the Saint Anselm/SNHU Tournament, Thursday.
The Fighting Knights opened with a 3-1 win over Southern New Hampshire and added the second victory with a 3-0 sweep of Saint Anselm. With the two wins, head coach
Adam Milewski reached 150 wins at the helm of the Lynn volleyball program.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Southern New Hampshire):
- Lynn earned the season-opening win by scores of 25-13, 24-26, 25-17 and 25-21
- A complete box score was not made available following the match
HOW IT HAPPENED (Saint Anselm):
- Milewski earned his 150
th win behind scores of 25-23, 25-16 and 25-9
- The Fighting Knights hit .292, including .552 in the third set behind 17 kills and just one error
- Lynn also held advantages in kills (47-23), aces (6-3), blocks (7-2), assists (43-22) and digs (54-41)
- The Hawks jumped out to leads of 6-2 and 13-11 before a 4-0 scoring run increased their lead to 19-14 in the first set
- Saint Anselm later led 22-16 before Lynn rebounded behind a 9-1 run for the win

Samantha Wolf and senior
Maria Cecilia Pinho each smacked three kills during the outburst to help Lynn rally
- Senior
Nikola Bartecka and Cecilia Pinho opened the second set with a kill each and the Fighting Knights never trailed for the remainder of the match

Samantha Blahut had a kill for a 7-2 lead and the Blue and White later collected a 7-0 run for an 18-7 cushion
- Sophomore
Fabia Gonzalez Stanton sealed the 25-16 win with a kill
- Lynn rolled in set three behind a 6-0 lead to set the tone
- Blahut later smacked two kills as part of a 6-0 run for a 17-4 advantage
- Two kills and a service ace late in the set from graduate
Nadia Rossi sealed the win
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Cecilia Pinho hit .440 with 13 kills and five blocks
- Wolf finished with 10 kills and eight digs
- Gonzalez Stanton hit .583 with seven kills and eight digs
