BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn women's basketball dropped its SSC tilt with Palm Beach Atlantic 61-53 on Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Knights were led by double-digit scoring from
Trinity Mocadlo (17 points) and
Ella Fiore (13 points).
Lynn is now 10-8 overall and 4-7 in the Sunshine State Conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Sailfish opened the game on a 16-4 run

Makayla Hemingway's three and
Danielle Montelbano's layup ended the first quarter with Lynn trailing by seven, 16-9

Channing Chappell's three at the 8:38 mark in the second quarter cut Lynn's deficit to six, while
Ella Fiore's traditional three-point play and
Jess Knight's layup brought Lynn within one point
- The Sailfish closed the first half on another run to lead by nine, 29-20, at the break

Trinity Mocadlo's steal and layup made it a two-possession game
- Fiore scored four consecutive points to bring the Fighting Knights within two, 37-35, with four minutes remaining in the third quarter
- Montelbano assisted a Mocadlo layup to tie the game at 39
- The Fighting Knights shot 58.3% (7-for-12) in the third quarter
- Mocadlo hit her third three-pointer of the day to start the fourth quarter and tie the game at 42
- Fiore faked a shot and dished a pass to an open Hemingway for a three-pointer as the Blue and White led 47-45
- Knight broke a Sailfish 8-0 run with a layup to cut Lynn's deficit to four, 53-49, with five minutes remaining in regulation
- Chappell's driving left-handed layup made the score 55-51 in favor of the road team with 1:58 showing on the clock
- Each team made two free throws over the next 90 seconds
- The Sailfish were perfect from the line in the final 30 seconds to close the game
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Mocadlo played all 40 minutes and has scored 15+ points in three of her last six games
- Fiore had two steals and a block for the third-consecutive game
- Chappell led Lynn in +/- at +9 over 25 minutes of action
- The Fighting Knights scored 26 bench points
- Lynn shot 85% (11-for-13) from the charity stripe while PBA shot 92% (12-for-13)
- The Blue and White committed a season-low 11 turnovers while recording a season-high five blocks
