PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Lynn University men's tennis team began its run at the ITA South Regional Championships on Thursday with competitive doubles play.
Aymen Alimoussa and
Santino Morel powered their way past Florida Southern in the round of 32 before falling to the tournament's top seed in the next round, while newcomer
Louay Makke and veteran
Davide Cortimiglia pushed a third-seed Saint Leo duo in their opening match.
ROUND OF 32:
- The duo of
Aymen Alimoussa and
Santino Morel turned away Florida Southern's George Russell and Marco Cinotti in the opening round, 8-4
- Fighting Knight newcomer
Louay Makke teamed up with Blue and White veteran
Davide Cortimiglia coming up just short of third-seeded Kodai Kato and Jose David Segovia Perez of Saint Leo, 8-4
ROUND OF 16:
- Alimoussa and Morel fell short in the second round, dropping to top-seeded Sebastian Rondon and Diego Duran of West Florida, 8-1

The ITA South Regional Championships continue in Pensacola on Friday, Oct. 3 as singles action gets underway in the morning. Cortimiglia (8 am), Alimoussa (9 am), Morel (9:30 am) and Makke (11 am) will all represent Lynn in one-on-one competition.
