PENSACOLA, Fla. - Lynn men's tennis opened singles play at the ITA South Regional Championships with a hard-fought day on the courts.
Aymen Alimoussa highlighted the action by posting back-to-back victories, including a straight-set win over a seeded opponent, to secure his place in the Round of 16. The Fighting Knights saw competitive efforts across the board, with several matches pushing into tight tiebreaks.

- Alimoussa downed Charles Lefort of Mississippi College, claiming a 6-2, 6-1 victory to advance to the second round of singles action

Davide Cortimiglia opened singles play for the Blue and White in the 8 a.m. match against Barry's Thomas Machado but was forced to retire due to injury.

Santino Morel fell to sixth-seeded Diego Duran of West Florida in a gritty 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) contest

- Alimoussa got the better of 15th-seeded Quinn Groenendijk from Lee, advancing to the next round with a decisive 6-3, 6-4 victory

- He will now take on Stefan Mos from Lee in the consolation round of 16 on Saturday at 10 am
- Makke received a bye to the round of 16 as Barry's Riccardo Trione was forced to retire due to injury
- He will compete against either Richard Stoiberer (Rollins) or Christian Bacher (Montevallo) in the consolation round of 16 on Saturday at 10 am
