PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Lynn University men's tennis team wrapped up a competitive weekend at the 2025 ITA South Regionals, highlighted by senior captain
Aymen Alimoussa's run to the Round of 16 and
Louay Makke's hard-fought victories in consolation play. The Fighting Knights battled through a deep regional field featuring some of the nation's top Division II talent.
ROUND OF 16:
- Alimoussa's singles run in the regionals came to a close in the round of 16 as seventh-seed Rafaeo Sabio from West Florida got the better of the Fighting Knight captain, 6-2, 6-2
CONSOLATION:
- Makke emerged victorious in a hard-fought 7-5, 6-3 match against Richard Stoiberer of Rollins in the consolation round of 32
- Makke went on to fall to Saint Leo's Kodai Kato in the round of 16, ending his run in the consolation bracket

Santino Morel dropped his morning matchup with Stefan Mos in a valiant 6-3, 6-0 (10-2) contest

Singles
- Alimoussa downed Charles Lefort of Mississippi College on Friday morning, claiming a 6-2, 6-1 victory to advance to the round of 32
- Alimoussa got the better of 15th-seeded Quinn Groenendijk from Lee, advancing to the round of 16 with a decisive 6-3, 6-4 victory late Friday afternoon
- Morel fell to sixth-seeded Diego Duran of West Florida in a gritty 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) contest in the opening round
- Makke battled against Valdosta State's Philipp Bosse in the first round, dropping a thrilling 6-1, 7-6 (7-0), 10-8 contest

Davide Cortimiglia opened singles play for the Blue and White against Barry's Thomas Machado on Friday morning but was forced to retire due to injury
Doubles
- Alimoussa and Morel turned away Florida Southern's George Russell and Marco Cinotti in the opening round Thursday morning, 8-4
- Alimoussa and Morel fell short in the second round, dropping to top-seeded Sebastian Rondon and Diego Duran of West Florida, 8-1
- Makke and Cortimiglia came up just short of third-seeded Kodai Kato and Jose David Segovia Perez of Saint Leo in the round of 32, 8-4
The 2025 ITA South Regionals will conclude tomorrow, Sunday, Oct. 5, with the semifinal and final rounds.
