ORLANDO, Fla. - Lynn University standout Vitaly Kostin has been named the Sunshine State Conference Swimmer of the Week, following a dominant performance at the NSU Duals that saw him win all six of his events and record two NCAA B-cut times. He becomes the first Lynn swimmer on the men's side to earn the honor in the 2025-26 season, and the award marks the third SSC weekly accolade of his career.
 
Kostin powered the Fighting Knights to a commanding 249.5–141.5 victory over Nova Southeastern, sweeping all four of his individual races while contributing to two relay wins. He opened the meet by taking the 500 freestyle (4:35.37) and 200 freestyle (1:38.60), leading a Lynn 1-5 sweep in the 200 free. He later helped the Knights close Friday's session with a victory in the 400 freestyle relay, which hit an NCAA B-cut time of 3:02.32.
 
Kostin's momentum continued Saturday, beginning with a win in the 100 IM, where his 50.62 set a new school record. He followed with a commanding victory in the 100 butterfly (47.81), another NCAA B-cut and one of the top times in Division II this season. He also contributed to Lynn's win in the 400 medley relay (3:21.03) to complete a flawless weekend.
 
With a perfect 6-for-6 performance, a program record, and two NCAA qualifying marks, Kostin's weekend stands among the best in the early SSC season, solidifying him as one of the conference's top performers.
 
Kostin and the Lynn swim teams will be back in action on Nov. 20 when the Fighting Knights head to Indianapolis to compete in the House of Champions meet hosted by IU Indy.
