ORLANDO, Fla. - Lynn University freshman Paolo Agogeri was named the Sunshine State Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, as announced by the league office Wednesday.

Agogeri earns the first weekly honor of his collegiate career following a dominant debut in the Fighting Knights' season opener against Nova Southeastern on Saturday.

The freshman was a perfect 3-for-3 in his individual events, capturing victories in the 1,000-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle and 200-yard individual medley while accounting for 27 individual points.

Agogeri wasted little time making an impact in his first collegiate event, cruising to victory in the 1,000 free with a time of 9:27.23. He finished more than 18 seconds ahead of the runner-up and came just 3.20 seconds shy of the NCAA Division II "B" standard of 9:24.03.

He continued his impressive debut in the 500 free, touching the wall in 4:34.75 to earn his second victory of the afternoon. Agogeri won the event by more than 11 seconds and finished just 2.41 seconds outside the NCAA provisional standard of 4:32.34.

Agogeri capped his afternoon with another victory in the 200 IM, posting a time of 1:52.86 to defeat Nova Southeastern's Michael Kent by 1.10 seconds.

The Fighting Knights return to the pool on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 11:30 am to host SSC foe Barry.
