Guler collects SSC Men’s Swimmer of the Week award

ORLANDO, Fla. - Lynn men's swimming standout Efe Guler has been named the Sunshine State Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, the league announced, following his championship performance at the 2025 CSCAA Open Water Championships in Sarasota.

Guler delivered a dominant showing on the national stage, capturing first place overall in the men's 5K race at Nathan Benderson Park. He topped a highly competitive field of 89 swimmers representing multiple NCAA divisions, touching the finish in a winning time of 52:54.1. His effort also secured first place among Division II competitors, underscoring his ability to compete and win against the nation's elite distance swimmers.

Competing in one of collegiate swimming's premier open water championship events, Guler showcased elite endurance, race strategy, and composure in open water conditions to separate himself from the field. His performance marked one of the most significant individual accomplishments by a Sunshine State Conference swimmer this season.

With the honor, Guler became the third Lynn swimmer overall, and the second on the men's side this season, to earn a Sunshine State Conference Swimmer of the Week award, highlighting the Fighting Knights' continued success at the conference and national levels.

Lynn swimming returns to action for its final competition of the calendar year when both the men's and women's teams travel to Fort Lauderdale for the Shark Invite, hosted by Nova Southeastern, on Thursday, Dec. 18 through Friday, Dec. 19
