Explosive fourth quarter propels Lynn to third consecutive victory

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University men's lacrosse team continued its perfect start to the season with a strong fourth-quarter performance, securing a 13-10 victory over Dominican (Cal.) under the Friday night lights.  

The Fighting Knights improved to 3-0 on the year behind a well-balanced attack, led by Leo Letta's hat trick. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: 
- Dominican struck early to take a 3-0 lead in the first quarter before Connor Houston put Lynn on the board at the 4:55 mark, 3-1
- The Fighting Knights responded with two quick goals from Connor Zombro and Mario Leone to close the first period tied at 3-3 
- The second quarter saw both teams trade goals, with Lynn taking its first lead at 6-4 thanks to goals by Jackson Cutter, Dom Veratti (man-up), and Camren Santos with eight minutes left of play 
- Lynn and Dominican were tied at the half 7-7 with Letta scoring just before the buzzer 
- Third quarter saw a pair a goals from both sides with Pat Bershefski and Letta getting on the board for the Blue and White 
- Dominican opened the fourth quarter with a goal in the 12th minute for a 10-9 lead 
- The Fighting Knights dominated the remainder of the fourth, scoring four consecutive goals from Letta, Noah Gies, Veratti, and Carson Yungbluth (man-up goal) to seal the win
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS: 
- Letta led the team with a hat-trick on the night 
- That brings his total to five this season 
- Veratti tallied two goals and one assist 
- Houston, Leone, Cutter, Bershefski, Zombro, Santos, Yungbluth, and Gies each scored once 
- Leone leads the team this season with six goals 
- Nick Calleri dished out a team-high three assists 
- Goalkeeper Hunter Klosterman made seven saves in the second half to help secure his first win of 2025 
- Keeper Tristan Lenard played the first half and made nine saves 
- Lynn outshot Dominican 47-33
